Today iCRAG announces the appointment of Dr Audrey Morley as Deputy Director.
Dr Morley, iCRAG Funded Investigator and Lecturer in Physical Geography, at the School of Geography, Archaeology, and Irish Studies at the University of Galway, has a research focus on assessing past changes in large scale ocean-atmosphere climate dynamics during past warm climates to improve our understanding of future climate change.
Dr Morley takes over the position of Deputy Director from Dr Jean O’Dwyer of iCRAG at UCC who has held the position since 2021.
iCRAG Director, Prof. Murray Hitzman said of the new appointment, “iCRAG is delighted to welcome Dr Morley as Deputy Director. Audrey’s expertise across many of the fields of iCRAG research spanning marine science, environmental change and climate reconstruction is crucial in positioning iCRAG as a world-leading SFI Research Centre.”

Speaking on the new appointment, Dr Morley said: “I am delighted to take on the role of Deputy Director in iCRAG. Our Centre has delivered significant environmental, societal, and economic impact since its foundation, and I look forward to contributing to iCRAG’s cutting edge science across the wide range of our expertise.”
Dr Morley will join Prof. David Chew as Deputy Directors of iCRAG.
